About Me, Jo Williams.
Hi, I'm Jo Williams and I'm a potter and I work from my little studio in New Brighton on the Wirral.
I've been making ceramics for 35 years and my obsession has never wavered. I mainly throw on the potters wheel now although I love making big coil pots when time allows and I constantly experiment by using new materials and firing them so that I continue to learn and progress.
A shop I supply asked me to make some boob pots awhile ago and while I thought they were fun to make, I didn't think they would be particularly popular. I was wrong. Now I make lots of boob pots and love making them. I throw the container/vessel, then when leatherhard, I shape balls of clay by hand and attach them to the wall of the pot, smoothing and carefully shaping as I go. I use different coloured slips for different skin colours and vary and celebrate different boob sizes. After bisque firing, I coat in clear glaze and fire again. Cute little boob pots.
